I might have gone overboard but: I once took the whole hallway and cut paper icicles that hung the entire hallway. I cut big circles and made giant snow people, students did snow-related work.Also made green trees-kids made a bird with a wish for the new year on the back.
I’m all about not celebrating Christmas in schools. I’ve had students personally tell me that it’s triggering. I’m wrestling with how to create seasonal magic throughout the year and specifically in autumn/winter when things are darker and colder and school feels like prison.

Lucky you. My dog likes to roll on dead seagulls and fish. That's always a nice drive home from the beach, with all the windows down, in December, and still gagging from rotten fish smell. I dream of something simple like wet paws.
