"tldr?". USDai is a yield-bearing synthetic dollar backed by real AI hardware. Borrowers collateralize GPUs or other pieces of hardware.to borrow funds from users who deposit stablecoins into the protocol. 🫶

"first-loss what?". Think of curators as financial airbags. If something breaks, they take the losses first, not you. That’s why they earn higher returns.

"who is involved in this?". There are 3 roles:.- Depositors who deposit USDC or USDT. - Borrowers who need hardware. - Curators that take the first-loss risk and help decide which assets or borrowers are worth receiving money.

"huh?". Okay, think of it like this:. You’re funding a car, not the driver. Whether it’s Driver 1 or Driver 2 behind the wheel, the car still works, still earns, still holds value. Same with a server or GPU cluster.

"isn’t that risky tho?". USDai doesn’t care who the borrower is, it cares what they’re borrowing against. The protocol holds the hardware as collateral. If something goes wrong, the asset’s still there.

"ok, how it works?". You deposit USDC or USDT → mint USDai → stake it as sUSDai → earn yield. That yield comes from real-world borrowers who need compute and infra, but are too small to raise money from banks or big VCs.

"ok, but something else??". In this case, it’s backed by loans tied to real machines used for AI and DePIN. This means servers, sensors, racks, GPUs, etc etc.

"huh?". USDai is a synthetic dollar. Formally, it's a crypto-native representation of $1 that is backed by assets other than traditional cash reserves. In simple terms, it means that USDai is backed by something else than fiat held in bank accounts.
