On-device learning has been critical to shipping a consistent experience across 300+ different production cars. We believe this is one of the core problems to deploying robots in the real world, and a lot of the recent progress in openpilot has gone towards this problem.
Some interesting results from the physical Atari setup after ~6 hours of learning on different games. Policies learned on one robot performed noticeably worse on a second robot. Both robots were built by 3D printing the same models, used the same servos, and were tested in

10x more memory efficient IPC TLDR: we reduced our pub-sub IPC's memory usage from 711MB to 90MB. Check out the PR for all the fun details. https://t.co/NuCNoHRJek

Medium Fanta Driver Monitoring Model🥤 Medium Fanta is trained on a new dataset, the first to include comma four data. The comma four driver-facing camera has a different position compared to the comma three and 3X, which is why training on those segments is important.

It feels even smaller in person (that's what she said). Size comparison between the Comma 3X and the Comma 4. The small screen will take some getting used to.

Thanks to @CordellSchroed3, @dennis_murphy, @LivingInKaos, and @gerrylum2, I'll be comparing UHF to the @comma_ai 3X in the near future. It takes a village - these great community members helped to put together a Rivian + Comma 3X kit for my Gen 1 R1S. The install is happening

@comma_ai 4 in for a trial run.... left the 3x mount in place so I can switch back and forth for now. I will say, that keyboard is GENIUS , but still not the easiest thing. If you are a set it and forget it type, the 4 will be just fine. Using Sunnypilot, their new Sunnylink

Fascinating talk by Robbe Derks @comma_ai about how they took the Comma 4 concept and brought it to production. Some of the early concepts are... interesting.
