When I lived in a real city with subway, they would routinely limit station throughput if needed (crowds, broken escalator, maintenance) by closing some of the doors for entry. Must be a hard concept to grasp for OC Transpo and Ottawa Police 🤯
The Ottawa Police Service says the reason Pimisi Station was restricted on Canada Day is because of the station's design and its inability to handle crowds.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Ottawa don't own a car for one reason or another. A real mayor would try to find a way, so they could too, get their kids to school or a hockey practice by bus, by train, or by bike. @_MarkSutcliffe tells them to fuck off.
Add to that a quarter of a billion dollars on bike lanes. Ottawa needs transportation priorities that work for them. Whether your getting groceries, taking your kids to school, getting to the community centre for hockey practice. Bike lanes aren't going to help you with that.
