It’s because markets are competitive. All other things being equal you’re going to have more people going after sexy opportunities. That means more obvious ideas and more competition which means lower margins.

Now that we have reasoning and research, the limiting factor is human curiosity. Most people lose their desire to learn over time. Default to habits and norms. We literally have the world’s greatest knowledge source at our fingertips and we choose to watch tiktoks instead.
