Feedback interventions for learning health systems Assistant Professor, Department of Learning Health Sciences, University of Michigan

A non-medical friend recently asked me to describe clinic. I told her to imagine you have 20 meetings in a day, half of them new clients with urgent needs. Each requires your best self. You are late for at least 10 of them. You must prepare a report and deliverables for each one.

As you honor my father today, please remember and honor my mother, as well. She was the architect of the King Legacy and founder of @TheKingCenter, which she founded two months after Daddy was assassinated. Without #CorettaScottKing, there would be no #MLKDay. #MLK

@EmilyRHaines @zachll @UW @SMARTCtr @Aaron_Lyon @birkensarah @alex_dopp_phd Key point by @SMARTCtr @UWALACRITY's @Aaron_Lyon: Usability becomes increasingly important with increased implementation scale. How do we use #quantitative instruments to evaluate usability in #impsci?

Until we learn to measure what we value, we will overvalue what we measure. Not only is software use a ridiculous proxy for productivity—productivity is the wrong measure for office work.
Esoteric metrics based on analyzing extensive data about employee activities has been mostly the domain of fringe software vendors. Now it's built into MS 365. A new feature to calculate 'productivity scores' turns Microsoft 365 into an full-fledged workplace surveillance tool:
