Overall, our findings provide important insights on jet powering, accretion processes and black hole-galaxy coevolution via AGN feedback, as well as a clear observational benchmark to calibrate AGN feedback simulations.

We use the incidence of radio AGN as a function of specific black hole kinetic power to derive the average jet power of the population of massive galaxies at low redshift, as a function of stellar mass and radio morphology.

Finally, we use this ‘balance of power’ plot (showing radiative versus kinetic power), as well as what we learnt through the incidence work, to look into more detail about the accretion mode of our objects!

The incidence of compact and complex radio AGN shows a surprising boost at the high jet powers, which, interestingly, cannot be explained by more powerful, complex AGN lying in more dense environments.

The same power-law slope describes the compact radio AGN incidence for all massive galaxies so, it is not only high mass galaxies that host high power radio AGN and vice versa. Yet, higher mass galaxies are more likely to host radio AGN across the λJet range.

We show that eFEDS X-ray AGN in the complete, spectroscopic parent sample of GAMA09 galaxies are the result of a mass-invariant triggering and fueling mechanism: their incidence is the same at all stellar masses.

We carefully prepare a new sample of LOFAR radio AGN (see cutout of beautiful FRII below), fully characterised for radio morphology, host galaxy counterparts and properties, which we release on the LOFAR Data Release pages, go check it out!

TLDR: First time probing the radio AGN incidence as a function of mass-scaled jet power. Radio morphology, mass and jet power all influence the observed radio AGN emission. Statistical incidence studies are a powerful tool to study disk-jet coupling in various accretion modes.
