Excited to share a project I've been working on throughout the quarter — I spoke to several @NULax alumni to learn more about how they are involved in lacrosse after graduation. My final sophomore year piece for @insidenu on some incredible trailblazers:.

Staying involved in women’s lacrosse after college hasn’t been easy. However, former Wildcats make the most out of their opportunities to create a world where the NCAA isn’t the pinnacle of the sport.

@TatnallSchool @BCwlax @delawareonline Big thanks to Lydia, her parents Barbara and Cesidio Colasante, Boston College head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein, Tatnall lacrosse coach Ruth Hiller and Tatnall cross country coach Patrick Castagno for taking the time to speak to me for this story throughout the last month.

Delaware's Lydia Colasante used to be a multi-sport phenom at @TatnallSchool. Now, she's an All-American and one of the nation's top defenders with @BCwlax. My @delawareonline feature about Colasante, who is making a comeback from an ACL injury:.

@NUFHCats @delawareonline Moffett, a defender from @SmyrnaHockey and the DIAA Division I player of the year, has helped her team to three consecutive state finals and looks to avenge her last two title game losses. She also has experience playing with the U.S. U18 and U16 teams.

"As soon as I went to Northwestern, I loved it so much". I spoke to @NUFHCats commit and top ten recruit Bree Moffett at @delawareonline media day last week, where we talked about choosing NU and her senior season. The talent keeps coming in Evanston.

Moffett wants to avenge Smyrna's last two title game losses and have fun on the pitch, but ahead of her is a journey with a top NCAA program.

That’s not to discredit her previous titles, because you can only swim the race in front of you and showing up when it matters the most is important. But with her 2023 200 IM World title and her 2024 Olympic gold medal, the fastest performer in the world wasn’t racing.

This 200 breast title feels significant for Kate Douglass — it’s the first time she’s won a LCM title where all of her possible competitors were present and won with the fastest time in the world. Now she can say she’s undoubtedly the best in a single event.

Delaware field hockey, playing without conference in 2025, has a stacked independent schedule consisting of teams like defending national champion Northwestern, national finalists St. Joe’s and P5 teams like Penn State, Ohio State and Cal.

Though part of why Ledecky is so hard to beat is because she can change gears and raise her level even this far out into her career. Asking her competitors to do the same and even improve on a consistent basis is a tall task because it’s not easy.

In the future Katie Ledecky is going to have legit challengers in both of her events. Obviously McIntosh and possibly Pallister in the 800 but Simona Quadarella going 15:31 in the 1500 is no joke. I have no doubt she can, but KL will have to be near her prime times to win.

Shaine Casas' only swim is a 48.58 100 free relay leadoff which isn't *super* inspiring at a World championships meet, but it does the job for a prelims swim. No idea how that translates to his backstroke form given he didn't race it at trials. Destin Lasco possibly??.

Tommy Janton finishes 18th, just two spots out of a semi-final. It's the first time since 1908 (!!) that no Americans have made the semis of a men's 100 back race at LC Worlds or the Olympics. Many questions about the medley relay — Do they race Aikins at all? Does Casas swim?.

Tommy Janton finishes sixth in his 100 back heat with a time of 53.87 — Not sure if that's enough to make the semis, definitely on the cusp. Jack Aikins, the other American, is well off his best at 56.54. The World Aquatics announcer says that he was affected by illness.
