👋Meet #yEMERG Ella Abken is a Research Assistant at CureME. She studies ME/CFS, manages the UK ME/CFS Biobank, and focuses on gender medicine & sex differences. Neuroscience-trained, she works with the Women’s Brain Foundation and G3 Modern Medicine to support inclusive research

👋Meet #yEMERG @KarenGimOrenga is a biotechnologist at UCV. Karen studies human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) as potential biomarkers for #MECFS #fibromyalgia and #LongCOVID. She also explores how HERVs in our DNA influence the immune system and contribute to these conditions🧬

👋Meet #yEMERG Next up is @HaagmansRik! Rik is a postdoc focusing on the role of viruses in #MECFS at @TheQuadram. Soon, he will be project leader of a research project at NMCB @amsterdamumc and @TheQuadram, focusing on the role of virus infections and microbiome in ME/CFS🦠👨‍🔬

👋 Meet #yEMERG Maria Ljungström is a PhD candidate in Dr. Elisa Oltra’s research group on Gene Expression and Immunity in Valencia. She works on identifying biomarkers related to immune system alterations and extracellular vesicles in #MECFS, #Fibromyalgia and #LongCovid 👩‍🔬

👋Meet #yEMERG First up is @Katharine_seton, postdoc at @TheQuadram with Prof Simon Cardings group. She studies interactions between the microbiome and immune system in #MECFS, particularly the mycobiome. Kath also leads the LightMEUp pilot study on red light therapy in #MECFS🔬
