Thanks for amplifying our study conducted in Botswana. There is untapped potential in partnering with cancer survivors and sharing their stories to address cancer distress. Grateful to all the patients who partnered with us.
🎥 Can survivor stories heal distress? In Botswana, over 67% of breast cancer patients reported moderate-to-high distress. This pilot study found that peer-led survivor videos reduced distress and alleviated fear and body image concerns. ✅ Cultural relevance matters. 📉 29%

Representation in clinical trials is a critical scientific focus needed to address this! How does a phase III trial #INAVO120 testing a drug commonly associated with hyperglycemia as a side effect, only enroll 0.6% Blacks? #ASCO25 #asco2025 @WinnAwards

Agree. Excellent discussion by Dr @AngieDemichele @PennCancer- beautifully delivered, well- analyzed, and thoughtful critical review of the data and clinical utility.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I am loving Dr. DeMichele’s comments, including her insistence on longer survival and discussion of crossover issues. #ASCO25 #plenary #serena-6 Also loving audience questions. They are asking hard questions on the utility of PFS. I feel happy that the education is spreading and

Add being a visible minority and having a name from the global south and you find yourself reduced to nicknames with no titles in the very same communications (referrals, talks) where your colleagues are called Dr Lastname. And you’re asked / expected not to mind. #SayOurNames
Sadly, we still default to granting more respect to men than women. 8 studies: we're >2x as likely to call male politicians, athletes, teachers, and authors by their last names. It matters: surnames signal higher status. It's long past time to use consistent standards.
