The marriage contract of Margaret of Scotland and King Erik II of Norway, 25 July 1281. The couple’s daughter Margaret - “the Maid of Norway” - later died on her way to Scotland to take the throne of the Kingdom, creating a succession crisis that erupted into decades of war.
