You can already create 3D shapes from text prompts (not ChatGPT but a recent solution from Nvidia). Won’t take much to send the output to a 3D printing service.

Currently chatgpt is at secretary level (drafting letters) it has a long way to go. What’s your thought on >> Conversational GPT-4 for Tax Accounting + Insurance + Finance

Doesn't seem like a good fit yet for current models, outside of design ideas
They're better at producing good approximations rather than exact answers, which is why they work better for art and writing than math and physics
Iteration is also more expensive in the physical world
@yanatweets
Makes me think about the already-feasible pipeline from user->GPT->image generator... which isn't something I've seen, yet. Maybe we don't know why we would want it. Or it's too expensive. Or we want more user intervention at the different stages. ?

Probably already here, chat gpt could probably read out CNC or 3D printing instructions for objects, if it had the necessary training data. The more factories become digital and robotic the more they could also be controlled by an LLM like chat gpt.
