I am proud to announce I am working on a Castlevania Symphony of the Night decompilation: It aims to help various side projects that emerged in the last few years (eg. SOTN on the Megadrive, SOTN Hacked, speed runners, etc.).

. on Discord at @xeeynamo if we have servers in common. If we do not, we probably not have too much to talk about. My Github profile is very active. I do not have IG and I will not answer on Facebook. I have some content planned on YouTube and Twitch, but that's pretty much it.

Honestly? Twitter, I am out. Since the past few months there is an increasing amount of negativity and poor quality content on my feed from accounts I do not even follow. I will keep my account up and I will not be available in any other similar platform. You can reach me out. .

ChatGPT suggested me a code snippet that is prone to SQL Injection attacks. I can't stress enough how these new AI tools are assistants to be taken with a pinch of salt, not human replacements:.

[4/4] STOP using micro-services when not needed. It just increases costs of time, knowledge, maintenance, latency and to operate. Even the Amazon Prime Video team admits it. And remember their parent is the same company who sells you their cloud services.

[3/4] Good micro-services should scale differently bases on the demand. If the called service goes down the caller should continue to operate. The simplest example is an e-mail client. The client will function even if the sender or receiver services cannot operate at that moment.

[2/4] What I've seen are micro-services that exposes endpoints to CRUD a single resource. They scale 1:1 with the caller. If one of them go down, the entire chain will go down too. Those "helper" services solve no problem but to create headache if tightly coupled.

[1/4] Nowadays, hipster software engineers are falling into the micro-service trap. They get the bait from cloud services providers or code as infrastructure, and end pay a bigger bill💸. Micro-services exists not to apply DDD but to solve scaling and reliability issues. 👇.

Also they should get rid of those "memorable questions". They do not enhance the security in any way. They are just another point of failure.
