Close but not quite. The dynamic you’ve slightly touched on is known as jouissance. It’s deriving pleasure from a problem . Not that it’s fun or enjoyable (tho it could be) but it’s giving you a perverted pleasure . You feel the pain but subconsciously derive pleasure from it.
I lose all my money in poker and I can tell you this: self destruction is the most seductive thing you will ever face

Yup, it’s just a massive lazy moronic overcorrection. The ideal environment to raise your kids in teaches them how to interact with reality without getting sucked into it or used by it. Not to pretend it doesn’t exist and run away from it. Not to “opt out” because you can’t.
Reminds me of when parents in late 1990s/early 2000s considered it wasting time to be online/on the computer. Gotta have your kids produce/be plugged into content. Audiovisual presentation is as important as reading and writing. Foolish to think otherwise. Don't have your kids.

Very rarely have I met somebody that looks domesticated that isn’t. In fact if they aren’t domesticated they give off strong serial killer vibes like something is unsettling.
for the last 60~ years, a team of Russian scientists located at the Institute of Cytology and Genetics in Novosibirsk, Siberia have been running an experiment to domesticate foxes, specifically the wild red fox. at each generation of foxes, they picked the top 10% calmest, most.

Yup never knew what my great-grandpa did until his obituary . Worked on nukes, involved in OSS/Signal corps/Nuke commission/DARPA/last horse back calvary unit of WW2 honestly a fucking bad ass . Lived to 100 and never said a word . Insane life I hope to live up to one day.
It’s actually very believable Tucker had no clue his dad was in the cia. My great grandfather was a top guy in the OSS and nobody had any idea until he was old and would drunkenly let some tidbits slip. He and my great grandma would go on “vacation” to weird dangerous countries.

That being said taking a break from twitter for a week or two. Spending too much time on here. It’s a pattern i need to break. Trying to break all patterns in my life. Until i make significant change i gotta resist going to my default. It’s too easy to let it cascade into.
Time is only wasted if you let it. I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks strategizing about how to grow my businesses once i have the motivation to work again . It would only be a waste of time if I never acted on these ideas which I plan to. Honestly I see the value of.
