Important preclinical therapeutic work for Sudan ebolavirus, a deadly virus, done right here in ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. Congratulations @BryceWarner1 and @RVendramelli et al!

Some Filovirus therapeutic work from my previous lab now out in J Virol. This study showing delayed treatment of Sudan virus infected NHPs with a monoclonal cocktail is highly effective. More countermeasures for non-EBOV species are critically needed!

Our new paper on #longcovid in a preclinical animal model, changed proteins 31 days after infection in the young. Sex based differences and surprising as disease is mild with quick resolution in this model. Teamwork with @BryceWarner1 and @RVendramelli

There are few things more tragic than a mother losing her life in the moment that she is giving life to her newborn. The risk of a woman dying in childbirth hasย declined significantly across the world. Yet this progress has been unequal. Read more: https://t.co/6NxZPXpk8h

HPAI H5N1, the cause of multiple avian outbreaks in N. and S. Am. over the past year, that typically does not transmit between mammals: "One isolate, A/Red Tailed Hawk/ON/FAV-0473-4/2022, efficiently transmitted by direct contact between ferrets, resulting in lethal outcomes."

For the last little while we've been working on currently circulating H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses. Here is some of our work evaluating mammalian pathogenesis in mice and ferrets ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡. https://t.co/B4w5tUoOsJ

My twitter is such garbage, I see almost nothing from those I follow and my feed is mainly tweeps I do NOT follow. It's hard to believe how much more useful it was prior to Nov 2022, now it's worse than JR HIGH.

Highly virulent H5HPAI isolate from a hawk in Canada, capable of infection in mice and ferrets, with severe disease, efficient contact transmission, and some airborne transmission in ferrets. Stresses the importance of enhanced surveillance. Globally https://t.co/GoYKrjwXPJ
