To help fix this, we worked with @solanacompass to improve geographic data representation by opening access to our Firedancer Dashboard and enabling them to collect metrics directly including:.✅Updated block time.✅Vote latency metrics. 🔗

These misrepresented numbers can lead to a public misperception: that some validators were “stretching” blocks in order to reorder transactions/sandwich certain transactions within their blocks. This can hurt the teams involved who are working to better the ecosystem.

Latency and block production stats can be misleading depending on where and how they're measured. Validators outside of common hosting regions (like those in LATAM) may be misrepresented due to geolocation bias in existing data pipelines.
