Many people are upset about the bible being removed from school libraries. When we pass poor laws and policies lots of books that shouldn't be pulled get swept up in the purge. Let's work together on common sense solutions so The Bible and The Bluest Eye aren't targeted as porn.

Just got off a zoom with a very talented young filmmaker I'm (sort of) mentoring -- and I shared an exercise that I find useful for storytelling. I'll share it here too in case it helps someone reading...

My 5th graders top 30 books they read though out the school year. Each student got one spot with the rest being class decisions. Thank you authors for writing. #kidsneedbooks

1. Don’t telegraph your punchlines. Often with banter, Char A has to tee up so Char B can quip. But authors often seem to forget that A doesn’t know what B is going to say. A’s dialogue has to stand alone. Is that line something someone would say? Does it make sense on its own?
