This is every team with at least 1 opening for 2026. Highlighted teams would seemingly be the best options --- they're open on 9/19 (the date of the Tech game) and they haven't scheduled an FCS opponent or have multiple openings. SEC teams waiting on 8/9 decision presumably.
Start date matters for USM because they're scheduled to play in Hattiesburg in 2026. Filling that on short notice could mean a 2nd buy game away or a 2nd FCS team. MWC/PAC team could also be an option.

Jonathan Hogart going undrafted is beyond confusing. 1.146 OPS with 22 HRs for an Omaha team and has some defensive value playing CF.

Source: The Sun Belt has voted to invite Louisiana Tech to join the conference, @TheAthletic has learned. Bulldogs will become a 14th member and replace departing Texas State. Entry date is still TBD. ESPN first reported.

Apparently this is an unpopular position but this is fine. Their basketball and baseball will immediately be toward the top of the conference and they aren't far removed from their best decade in football. Built in rivalries with several league members, etc.

I like Ohio as a team to schedule a football series with just because them and like Carbondale are some of the few crunchy college towns left in America but I wouldn't want them in the league.
