This is absolute madness. Carbon capture and storage has failed time and again. Labour has slashed reliable green programmes, to pour vast sums of our money into a complete crock. The only possible explanation is lobbying by fossil fuel companies.🧵

If you think that most flights are taken by business people, you might be surprised to see that the leisure market is much bigger, and is growing. Business flights have been flatlining for years – even before Covid. Choosing not to fly on holiday can have a huge impact!

From October until April, grouse shooting estates will set fire to northern England's fragile peat moorlands. This practice poses a threat to nature, the climate and local communities. We're calling on Minister for Nature @MaryCreagh_ to deliver a complete ban.

This deeply dishonest outfit has a stand at the @UKLabour conference. #Bluehydrogen will not 'deliver net zero'. Its full life-cycle impact is worse than coal for warming. But the previous Gov rigged the assessment criteria to make it look 'low carbon'. https://t.co/kGDNIpniQ3
My article with @Kevinclimate on why the new UK #hydrogen strategy is scam designed to prop up North Sea gas, under the pretence of climate action. It'll impose a huge cost on UK taxpayers and lock us into a high emissions pathway. Key points 🧵📣 https://t.co/6xbp17BTgW

Depressing reflection of media priorities that focus is all on frocks & football tickets, rather than on real obscenity - that Labour is accused of receiving £4m, its largest-ever donation, from a tax haven-based hedge fund with shares in oil and arms #bbclaurak @openDemocracy

BREAKING: The UK gov't has rightly recognised that approving the Rosebank oil field without taking into account the full extent of its climate impacts was unlawful. It has conceded that argument in our & Greenpeace's legal challenge against the field. So what does that mean? 🧵
