Early academic career stuff is weird. I apply for so many fellowships/awards/stuff that I get rejections from things I don't remember applying for. Just got 2 in 1 day and had to look them up in my records. I thought it would feel less bad due to the surprise...not so much 🤷

Not to be missed if you are a Rochester local. This "little" book is central to understanding a significant part of Indigenous/colonial/U.S. history. It's pretty classroom friendly, too

My latest for Boston review, on Nick Witham's Popularizing the Past: Historians, Publishers, and Readers in Postwar America, with riffs on Hofstadter, Boorstin, John Hope Franklin, Gerda Lerner, Howard Zinn, and, of course, Harvey Neptune, Staughton Lynd:

Finished up a fantastic fellowship @nysarchives researching the State Museum and the Iroquois Life Group dioramas created by Arthur C. Parker in 1910s. Good archives, people, and buffalo wings. Oh yeah, @SpinDoctorsBand were there, too...
