Today’s essay #2 (deeply reported, and tripping) Journalist @winston_ross follows the trail of those bringing psychedelics to a mainstream audience — but for a price — in @newlinesmag.

Can magic mushrooms stop climate change? There are some utterly gobsmacking lines in this piece by @winston_ross - I just had to share it, it is too good not to.

Oregon's trailblazing new drug decriminalization law has received mixed reviews. Some blame it for spikes in crime, drug use and homelessness. Others compare it to the Portuguese experiment that helped bring an HIV epidemic under control. Read this deep dive by @winston_ross ⤵️
From the third issue of #NLMinPrint, in @BNBuzz now: "The wrong story about what’s happening could either damage efforts to repeal the war on drugs or inspire more policies that would declare tens of thousands of people who are suffering beyond repair."

My four year old was reading a history of the Wagner Group when he turned to me gravely and asked, “Daddy, why did Russia and the Titan both implode this week?” And when I told him “to distract from the Hunter Biden guilty plea,” he started crying

During a recent trip to Tulum, @winston_ross expected to find what he kept hearing, that everyone hates it there. Instead, he found quiet beaches, refreshing cenotes, world-class massages and plenty of people who don’t, in fact, hate Tulum.

Some of its residents are ashamed to tell people where they live. Others lament the literal poop in the water. And yet, so many people are still in love with Tulum.
