Excited to share this commentary published in JABFM: An Academic Family Physician’s Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Experience

- Providers strongly agreed that: (1) the POCUS DVT clinic improved patient safety & access (2) When evaluating a borderline DVT concern, the POCUS DVT clinic reduced the clinician's cognitive burden (3) Without the POCUS DVT clinic, (I) would have sent the patient to the ED

- Results: - out of 62 patients, 2+ proximal DVT treated, 2+ distal found on follow up imaging within 1 week - out of 60 patients, 0 had a VTE diagnosis, 3 months after the scan. -48% potentially avoidable ED visit = cost savings
