Er, this is the same as calling ads on your own station "propaganda" - it's an advert.
EXPOSED:. OFCOM are PAYING influencers to spread propaganda about the Online Safety Act in the UK. Orwell’s 1984 isn’t just HERE it’s in full motion. Thank you to @DrHoenderkamp for bringing this to my attention.

Joining @BenKentish on @lbc a bit later on tonight to talk about a variety of things, including the Online Safety Act. In the meantime, this GIF shows you how vigorously some services are currently checking for VPN use.

Community notes do not equal "truth" @Nigel_Farage.

None of this post is true.
Free speech is over in the UK. Here's what the UK Government Can Now Do Under the Online Safety Act:. - Scan your private messages (WhatsApp, iCloud, Signal).- Censor protest videos from X and YouTube.- Force ID checks and facial scans to access social media.- Search your cloud

RT @JakeMooreUK: The UK won’t ban VPNs. It would be nearly impossible and it would dramatically disrupt legitimate use.

One person’s censorship is another’s not verifying their age in 60 seconds or less,.
We're all being censored now. On the left what you see from outside the UK. On the right what you see inside the UK. This was never about p*rnography. This was never about protecting kids.It was about ensuring people don't see the truth

In 4Chans case this is down to cost. In Reddit's case - this is down to "we don't fancy being legally exposed, and can't be arsed to find out more about the rules.".
This is also true of many subreddits. Not even explicit ones. We’re doing a North Korea for no reason. Not a single child will be helped by cutting Britain from much of the internet - and therefore VPNs being used by default. The internet will become *less* safe for children.

Or just submit the info they ask for - it takes 15 seconds, and no information is shared with the government.
Does @realDonaldTrump know that people need a VPN to watch videos of protests on X now in the UK ?!. #OnlineSafetyAct . Free speech and our freedoms are being eroded.

In which people don't realise this is actually X's way of getting you to go through the process. This is not overzealous government content restrictions in any way shape or form - it's a UX decision by the platform.

Content isn't being "censored" in any way. And if you love Elon's "free speech" so much - just go through the ID process 🤡.
🚨Our fears appear to have been vindicated on the very first day of the Online Safety Act's enactment. Some footage of protests taking place this evening against illegal immigration is unavailable on X for at least some UK users, with a warning about a restriction due to ‘local.
