Spent today driving through SE Georgia surveying damage from Hurricane Helene. No words to describe what has happened here. Myself and @UGAExtension Agents are doing everything we can to get data to show our growers need help!! As always, working closely with @GACottonComm.

It really is a great time of year. Finally had some time to put together a couple shots from harvest '22. @BASFAgProducts

Areolate mildew starting to show up on some cotton in east Georgia. If at least a month from defoliation, a fungicide can help.

Tomorrows the day! Excited to share that I’ll be taking over the @BASFAgProducts account for the day as we plant Stoneville plots in Georgia. Who’s ready to talk some cotton?

So long, weeds! Today, we introduced #AxantFlex herbicide trait technology, the first and only quadruple-herbicide tolerant/resistant trait stack for cotton in the U.S. We’d call that a good day. Learn more here: https://t.co/9OZzDXOGq2

It’s hard to tell from the sky, so here’s a field level shot: ST 5091 on the left, ST 4990 on n the right.

Pretty cool side by side of ST 4990 and ST 5091. This one has really helped us show that while having somewhat different growth habits, both are a great fit here in east Georgia. @BASFAgProducts

This was a fun one! Really enjoyed getting the opportunity to provide a crop update and talk cotton with some of my BASF colleagues.

New one for me… Black root on cotton. Shows up in some of our coastal flatwoods soils. No causal organism ever identified but does seem to correlate with high soil chloride content. Luckily only in a small portion of this field.

Recent weather has us looking for foliar disease right now, but don’t forget about what’s going on below. Came across some stunted cotton today, and a quick look at the roots gave us the answer: RKN

Not every cotton grower in southwest Georgia may need to spray a fungicide for target spot, but I sure wish this one had. 4th week of bloom and 40% defoliated. There will be yield loss. Scout your cotton; catch this disease early. Weather is perfect this season. UGA Extension

I might have to start carrying a kayak with me to rate plots if we don't get some sunshine soon, but this #stoneville APT in Cameron, SC is looking great!

We tend to focus mainly on root-knot in the southeast, but this along with 2020 surveys show that SCN can be a major factor on soybeans in the south.
Nematicide was applied every other row with planter in this field. Significant differences observed between treated and untreated rows. Soil sample confirmed high levels of soybean cyst in this field. #soybean #ClemsonExtension
