Let's have fair elections where voters choose their elected officials instead of the other way around.

Who is asking the Republicans the question, why did they pick the 2015 bill? And not like… 2021, which is the most recent bill? . We know the answer is they don’t actually want independent, nonpartisan redistricting, but shouldn’t the media ask?!.
According to the drafting file, the bill was drafted TODAY. (After a 3:30am spike in google traffic on the “Iowa Model”.)

Ron, please tell the truth. Your plan lets you ignore the commission and quickly substitute your own rigged maps. The plan advocates support insists on 3/4 of each house if you want to override the commission. You just…. left that out.
HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT: . We heard your thoughts on the redistricting process in Wisconsin & it's time for a change. Wisconsin Republicans will introduce a nonpartisan redistricting plan based off the Iowa Model. This plan has been hailed as the "gold standard" redistricting model by

Today’s events prove what we’ve always known: Vos is untrustworthy & not interested in democracy. The voters statewide have rejected his viewpoint. The legal case must move forward and is the best path to resolve the constitutional issue at stake. #fairmaps . 23/x.

Iowa has this problem, but they aren’t in a 50/50 state, and so they draw Republican maps that pretty clearly reflect their actual population, and they don’t get to that stage. Wisconsin is different. It’s 50/50. So we proposed this:
That’s unacceptable and we require a massive two-house super-majority of 75% to ignore the independent maps. 7/x.

Here’s the concern: what happens when the independent commission deadlocks? 19/x.
This includes important differences from Iowa. First and foremost, there’s no “Out” in the real Wisconsin version of the bill. In Iowa, the legislature can reject independently-drawn maps, and then eventually just substitute their own. 6/x.

Well, the bill is out and exactly what we said would happen, happened. Vos put forward a bill that pretends to reform the map-drawing process but actually keeps it in his own hands. 18/x. If you want the whole thread start here👇🏽
Well, the questions are coming in about Speaker Vos’ partisan move today to supposedly endorse the Coalition’s fair maps bill. 🧵 1/x.

We need #fairmaps. We believe the current court will give the litigants a fair hearing, although the outcome is of course unsure. That seems a better process than trusting Robin Vos. 17/x.
