.@MichaelEMann: We need incentives that make it so everybody takes the right action without even thinking about it (electric cars, etc.) We can't put a price on carbon or block new fossil fuel infrastructure...we need our politicians to take those actions.

.@MichaelEMann: Some of the primary obstacles to taking action now are climate "doomism" and despair-mongering. Everyone can see climate change is happening. Companies have gotten us past denial, and arrived at delay and distraction.

The idea is that if you can cause a presidential administration to fail, voters will reward the opposition party. That's true to a certain extent, but also allows Americans to distrust government entirely. @Milbank

Trump got a lot of traction suggesting that Obama wasn't born in the US, got a huge platform on Fox News for that. Over many years, he adopted the basket of issues that would thrill the populace in the GOP, particularly with the most racist views.
