A lot of you know I was @Wyefarm for many years until some lawyers got all upset about me miming in a tractor cab to #combinekaraoke & got me permanently suspended. Well, they finally gave me my account back so I'm going to go back over there if you'd like to join me!

Niche farming request: A chicken knocked my Amapad (@topconag X30) off the workbench & smashed the glass. It's the MK I with the writing on the glass not plastic & they don't make it anymore. Anyone got a dead one lying around?! Still works, but high risk on the fingers! 1/2

I'll keep this account running, after all it makes a lot more sense as it is the farm name. But I do not have the mental capacity to run two twitter accounts so if you don't already, follow @Wyefarm for all the terrible dad jokes & below average attempts at farming. ππ»

Wow, what a day. A trip to the Palace to say goodbye to our old boss & hello to the new one. Loved meeting tenants from all over the South UK, The Duchy family is something quite special & great deal of that is due to the leadership shown by The King over the last 50 years.

We've not done a whole heap different. The introduction of the Mzuri after years of Plough & Combi & prior to that 40yrs of π₯ has helped. Chopped some more straw, used FYM better & got braver with cover crops. It's a steady old journey but it's progress.

We started low. Average OM in 2014 was 2.63% (Range 1.7-4.4%) 2022 it's 3.12% (Range 1.8-5%) The range of change has been -0.3%π³ to +1.2%π€ so I think there's likely an amount of sampling error as well. On the whole they have definitely moved in the right direction.

Our soil type is predominantly sand & the organic matter content is low. 8 years ago we decided to try and improve them. This year we resampled & on average our OMs have increased by 0.5%. This might not sound like a lot but it's a step in the right direction. #WorldSoilDay

"The Dairy" gets a glow up! 50 years worth of rubbish, dust & general detritis out. As always with doing up any room in this beautiful old money pit of a farmhouse it's taken a considerable amount more time & money than we would have liked, let's hope it lasts another 50 years!

Sure it's not as important as the Six Nations, but there's nothing quite like beating Wales in a sporting event. #WALENG
