Harvest 2024 is a go!

Even this mighty Oak has had enough of 2025. 😔

I always think that moisture is more key for getting it away from the CSFB so I'm tempted to wait but it feels wrong!.

Oilseed Rape drilling - we always aim for the end of August, mainly due to combining & clearing straw slowing us down. Early harvest gives an opportunity to get it planted earlier but it is SO dry. What would you do?.

Right I hate being miserable, it doesn't suit me so let's look at the positives (won't take long). 1) The dryer hasn't even been looked at, let alone turned on.2) It's been the least stressful harvest of my life.3) I'll be able to spend more time with the herd & The Farm Manager

Funny how farming works, any other year I'd be absolutely thrilled with that forecast for the next fortnight so we could get stuck into harvest. This year we're desperate for rain to be able to do anything, the ground is like concrete.

I'll probably never use it. It's only me being lazy because obviously I could unbolt the control box and mount from the Big Tractor & put it into the Little one. One of the many reasons I didn't want to spend £400+ on it!.

Wanted a cable to convert the drill from RDS control box to Isobus to use on our other tractor if the main one went down. Circa £400. 🤯.Thought how hard can it be?.£40 on parts, a doner 4 core cable & Dad with his soldering iron later. Success! Satisfaction levels very high!

Two weeks into the school holidays & the wheels have officially come off! 🙈🙈
