At last! ‘24 Songs’ – the album! Yes, it’s finally forthcoming… on beautiful coloured vinyl and as a double CD. With extra tracks and a DVD! Read all about it in our February newsletter by click clicking here:
COVID-19 permitting, the plan is to play ‘Seamonsters’ live next year. It’s an interesting one to perform because it’s very intense & emotional. Last time we did it I had to stop chatting between songs - it spoilt the mood.

OK. I guess that’s it! “We don’t have to go anywhere… let’s just sit and talk about the usual things”. Thanks for inviting me to do this,
@Tim_Burgess
. I’ve not listened to ‘Seamonsters’ all the way through for many years!

In February 1990, we released the 'Brassneck' single. One of its formats was a 7" in a hand-painted sleeve. We did 3,000 of them! Does anyone still have one? Post a picture!
My dad’s old office stapler has finally given up the ghost. He gave it to me in the 1970s when he changed jobs and I’ve been using it ever since. Well done, the Rexel Sirius! Happy retirement after 40+ years of continued service.
Happy Saturday! We've decided to celebrate the 35th anniversary of 'Bizarro' with a little mini-tour in October. We'll be adding a couple more dates soon but tickets for London and Leeds are already on sale now:

Released almost 34 years to the day after the original 'My Favourite Dress' single, click on the link for the new version! It’s always an experiment to try an established song in an acoustic style, so I'm pleased that it came out well.
OK. I guess that’s it! ‘And if we're really, really, going to be honest, we might as well be brief”. Thanks for inviting me to do this,

Hi everyone. I am raffling test pressings from my personal collection in an effort to support Wedding Present crew members who are struggling financially at the moment. Please click on the link for more details.
Doing a bit of rehearsing for Saturday’s live acoustic set. Thanks for emailing the requests! We’ll be live and free-to-watch from 8PM via Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. [Jan 16th]
When ‘Seamonsters’ was released it split our fans. For many, I guess it was too great a departure from the frantic jangling of ‘George Best’! I can understand that… but we weren’t about to make the same record over & over!

Happy New Year!

Oh, yeah… I’m going to try being a live acoustic human jukebox on Thursday. It’ll be a bit like the raffle except this time you choose a song and I’ll play it. I’ll also answer any questions. Shall we say 18:30 BST 23/04/20 live on Twitter & Facebook?
People say that the vocals are too quiet on ‘Seamonsters’… and I think on ‘Rotterdam’ they might have a point. But, overall, the quietness adds to the dark feel, I’ve always thought.

The Wedding Present and crew are currently travelling home after our final concert of 2019. Thanks to everyone who has come to see us this year! The last newsletter of 2019 will be sent out next week. Merry Christmas!
One of my favourite bands is Altered Images. One of my favourite places in the world is Portmeirion in Wales. One of my favourite TV programmes is 'The Prisoner'. How I lived all these years not knowing about this video?
I don't think I've ever had a Wedding Present guitarist tie their shoelace mid-song before! Rachael Wood did exactly that during the breakdown section of 'My Favoutite Dress' last night in Valencia. Not caught on this video but you can see my reaction!
I have been in quite a few hotel rooms over the years, but never in one with such a bonkersly long corridor! 500m, according to the receptionist.

Happy Friday! Here’s a question for you. I’m interested in knowing what other music Wedding Present fans like. What are you five other favourite artistes? I might do a spreadsheet!
As we prepare to kick 2022 down the road, I’ll wish you a Happy New Year now because I don’t think I’ll make it to midnight (5:30AM alarm for an early flight from Iceland back to England). Here’s to 23!
[1/2] ‘Dalliance’ is one of those songs that builds and builds. I remember Keith saying that it felt like a series of explosions. Even in the quiet bits there are these little drum fills, or guitar parts that…

It’s funny how people sometimes think we’re a multi national corporation like Amazon! I’m afraid our mail order department is currently driving the van into Belfast and will also be the roadie tonight😆... but, yes, I will surely have a word!
I’ve always been quite proud of the ‘this razor; he’s left it on your shelf’ line because it’s so graphic. There’s no ambiguity; it’s just the heart-breaking evidence that someone else has been intimate with your lover.

I read in guide book that you can ‘easily’ do the Isle of Wight Coastal Path in four days. Either the writer was super fit or I’m out of condition! P. S. It’s ‘only’ ten miles tomorrow…
The Wedding Present have returned to Sherpherd’s Bush. Tonight we’re at the

with Miki Berenyi and Breakup Haircut. Oh, what a night.

And that’s your lot for another year! Thanks to everyone who came to see us play in Cork, Limerick, Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Manchester, Chester, Nottingham, Norwich, Cambridge, Bristol, Reading… and last night in London.

Next May... The Wedding Present will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of the ‘Watusi’ album with a tour of the UK. Read all about that [and other stuff!] in our latest newsletter:

I can’t believe it’s already been a year since this. Many thanks for all of this year’s birthday greetings. Brand new ‘locked down and stripped back’ song premiere tonight at 7 on WeddingPresentTV.
The Wedding Present have returned to Yorkshire. Tonight we’re playing at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth. There is no support group so we are on stage at 9pm. Who’s coming?

Hi Andy, We don't want you `getting nowhere fast', `having to walk a million miles' or left feeling `crushed'. We'll do our George Best to keep to roads clear. Keep checking the updates though. thanks.
Around 2m30 on ‘Carolyn’ you can hear me telling Albini that there is ‘no more’ singing to record on the song. I can’t remember if that was left on by mistake.

When I was growing up in Manchester, Granada was the local ITV station and ‘Granadaland’ was the colloquial name for area it transmitted to.

On this day in 1968 the final episode of The Prisoner TV series was broadcast. It revealed Portmeirion to be the film location for “The Village”. Any Prisoner fans out there?
