@NORML In Maryland's cannabis bill, HOAs and condo associations can restrict whether residents can smoke, says Del. C.T. Wilson.

@NORML "Responsible cannabis consumption is incredibly important. So is responsible regulation," says JM Pedini. JM says in Virginia, there have been bills about how products can be marketed -- specifically, that they can't be marketed toward kids.

@NORML JM Pedini on Virginia's marijuana market:. "The current governor is not interested in expanding any access to cannabis in the commonwealth.".

@NORML "We don't want to be regulated any differently" than marijuana, says Nicholas Patrick about currently legal hemp products in Maryland. Patrick says that he's been lobbying for regulations.

@NORML Del. C.T. Wilson says that hemp and CBD are "unregulated. That doesn't mean it's protected.". JM Pedini says the amount of THC in a product shouldn't be arbiter of if they are regulated or not.

@NORML Patrick is concerned that the bill passed by the Maryland House of Delegates will put his business, and others, out of business. "This law was written with the intention of destroying and upending the hemp industry.".

@NORML Nicholas Patrick is the cofounder and vice president of the Maryland Healthy Alternatives Association. He also is the owner of Embrace CBD Wellness Centers. Patrick says the products he sells are 50-60% less potent than traditional cannabis products.

@NORML Maryland Delegate C.T. Wilson sponsored the Cannabis Reform bill in the House. "We wanted to make sure there was equity in disbursement of our licensing," Wilson says of the bill and who will get licensing.

JM Pedini, the development director for @NORML, says instead of using the term "recreational marijuana," we should use the term "adult use.". One reason is that it's just for adults 21+. The other is because we don't know for sure if it's being used for recreational reasons.
