When and where is it appropriate to use an academic title? Twitter handle? Email signatures? Is it better for a man to his title in a trivial matter than for a woman to use her professorship of public engagement on the cover of a book that engages the public?

Hours silent watching wild birds feeding on real grass, too many to count. Hours silent watching wild birds feeding on artificial grass, none.
If you're a Christian and you think people deconvert so that they can sin, you've not being paying enough attention to the reasons why people deconvert.

Stay at home mom with no additional qualifications thinks she's better at teaching than those with educational degrees. Religion really is a poison to our society.

I and my household care, and we care that others don't. This will inform how we vote. But if you don't care, feel free to show how much you don't care, by not voting.

How far are you prepared to take this Greg? Don't wear a seatbelt? Don't have the cholera jab when visiting tropical climates? Don't wear a harness when rock climbing? Skydive with no parachute? Don't stop at a red light? The options are endless.

*surgical* abortions. Medical abortions show no change, and miscarriage has a worse affect. Also 5.4% over 4.4% seems an odd change to call significant.

It's naive to think that after 2000 years and still no way to confirm your God's existence, that sceptics will take your arguments seriously.

She was not arrested for praying.
Read the details carefully.
She was loitering in a restricted zone designed to stop people like her harassing others.

before that adoption could happen, that 12 yo must first carry a child and endure pregnancy while at school and be daily forced to remember what happened while also being judged by others who don't know. Suggesting adoption is deeply insensitive.

As an ex Christian of 13 years ago, my experience is that pastors like you are far more interested in my sex life than I am. It's almost as though you think you're missing out on something..........

The percentage of vaccinated deaths is lower than the percentage of unvaccinated deaths. That's the data that you need to understand.

The scientific method made me suspicious of the claims of Christianity. I didn't decide that I could me longer believe, instead it became impossible for me to continue believing.
@markoftheD
The problem with differentiated grades is you can't compare two different years because there's no comparison.
Make the grades fit a standard. If more people hit that standard then it's a teaching win.

That ship has effectively sailed.
I don't see how I could be convinced that the Christian god exists. But if I was, I think that God is an awful being which I can't worship.

So because one trans individual shot a school, all other trans have to stop doing anything celebratory that unrelated? Is that your message?
A testimony: my wife was dying in hospital. She was going to have surgery with a 30% death rate to have a chance of survival. Thousands ended up praying, most via twitter. The doctor said he didn't know why her pancreas started healing by itself. But I knew. Alleluia 🙏
Christians are cautious of stories of people who leave because of trauma, citing personal experience does not discredit belief. Yet they are affirming of conversion stories that include trauma that leads a person to belief. This double standard is frustrating.

I'll shortly be having a conversation around the question; would you worship the god you used to believe in, if that god turned out to exist?
How would you answer?
The fact that God did not kill us in our sleep last night for our sin is because he is abundantly kind, richly tolerant, and wealthily patient. (see Romans 2:4)

That's not possible for every woman. For those that can't, there should be another option. Removing that option is the least compassionate thing we can do for those women.
This is your reminder that around 4000 years ago Abraham knew to circumcise on the eighth day and we now know that that’s when vitamin K and prothrombin (clotting factors) naturally peak in newborns.
How did he know? God told him.

(1) There are doggies
(2) If reality is not fundamentally dogish, there would very likely not be any doggies.
(3) If reality is fundamentally dogish, it's not nearly as unlikely that there would be doggies.
In case anyone thinks to check ...
I did not leave Christianity so that I could live a life of sin, sexual or otherwise. Sin was never a factor in my deconversion.

All that's required for atheists to exist is for people to have theist beliefs. The truth of those beliefs is not a factor.

I understand. I used to say similar. Then I faced confirmation that at least some of them were better explained with existing understanding of psychology.
This makes me sad. It indicates that even moderate religion imposes undue stress and trauma onto people. It's traps them into never being content with who they are. This is a driver of poor mental health. There is freedom and wellbeing outside religion.
Every time I think I've gotten myself where I need to be, God shows me that I'm still a work in progress. There's always some worldly part of me that needs to die. And, gosh, is it painful. But if that's the cost of belonging to Him and not the world, I'll pay it.
@AtheistBut
atheism isn't a philosophy, so no, in that sense it doesn't exist.
It's simply a negative answer to a single question. It's a feature of an individual not a set of defined beliefs.
@Shann_Q0
I don't listen to every atheist experience episode, but I do listen to the ones you're on because I look forward to your calm and considered responses. You have a thoughtfulness that's contagious.
One of the biggest shocks I had after leaving christianity was the realisation that the grace it offers is conditional on accepting guilt for things i couldn't control.
