What are we doing about this please - I don’t see anyone doing anything - how can the world allow this to happen
The Taliban has banned women from speaking to one another. Khalid Hanafi, Taliban’s minister for virtue and vice, declared it forbidden for adult women to let their voices be heard by other women, further restricting existing bans on speaking and showing their faces in public.

1112 days since the Taliban banned girls from school. Millions of girls are out of classrooms, in the ONLY country in the world that bans female education. Why are we not outraged? How have we allowed this to happen in 21st century? How can we let the Taliban get away with this?

One of my favourite writers! will check out this biography
Raising a glass this evening to Joseph Roth, born on this day 130 years ago in Brody, in what’s now Ukraine. Thank you, Herr Roth, for being the most engrossing, stimulating, sometimes infuriating but always intriguing biographical subject I could ever wish to study.

Afghanistan’s women are holding small indoor protests in response to the Taliban’s vice and virtue law. They're making it clear that no government can shut them up, saying the Taliban are no different from ISIS and want to erase women from society.
