Finally started work on a project I have wanted to do for years. I'm reverse engineering + modifying a Big Buck Hunter cabinet (hunting game from 2000), working towards a nonviolent simulation of wildlife with infinitely generating landscapes, using only the original game assets.

Big Buck Hunter: Restoration is nearing completion. All the landscapes here are procedurally generated after the game's 'midwest' levels as a reference. The cabinet continually generates new landscapes and follows a 3 day (autumn/winter/spring) cycle.

I've been trying to use a language generation model (GPT-2) to make sketches. The process is heavily inspired by Sol LeWitt's - I use GPT-2 to generate a set of rules describing a drawing; then based on to my interpretation of those rules; I make a processing sketch.

all of these landscapes are procedurally generated following the rules present in the layout of the 'northeast' area of the original Big Buck Hunter game. The cabinet will continually generate new landscapes forever while going through a day/night cycle. #BigBuckHunterRestoration

Using 3D holographic screens to display scenes made with the ripped Big Buck Hunter models. The deer in-game only have animations related to being startled and running away, so it's nice to see them rest.
