Reclamation leadership recently met with officials from Aurora, CO. Aurora Water received $5M via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to promote drought resiliency via recapture & reuse of water from the South Platte River Basin, providing the city with up to 9,000 acre-feet/year.
The Cle Elum Dam helix fish passage test was a success! Thousands of Sockeye smolts exited the structure to the Cle Elum River. This project wouldn’t have been achieved without support from Yakima Basin Integrated Plan partners. Congratulations to all for this major milestone!

Reclamation leadership recently visited Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel Water Treatment Plant in Leadville, Colorado, which has removed heavy metals from 650 million gallons of water every year since 1991. Now, past its life expectancy, BIL will fund a modern plant.
