Beyond representation, women’s participation must be meaningful. Agreements are negotiated at formal tables, but peace is built within communities -initiated, led, and safeguarded by women. Women’s leadership at community level must therefore be made visible. #WomenInDiplomacy.

A recent three-year review of peace processes globally shows that 8 out of 10 negotiations and 7 out of 10 mediation efforts included no women at all, despite research showing that women’s participation leads to more sustainable peace.
