...? In only his second live tournament, Stu Ungar won the WSOP Main Event in 1980 for $365,000. Amazingly, he entered the same tournament in 1981 and won it again!

For those who haven’t seen the ESPN doc made on my dads life, my dad tells the story about how he’d learn a card game that guys were playing for 30 yrs only to come back 2 days later & beat them. He said himself he felt like it was freaky. But that’s just how it always was 4 him.

Thinking of Mike today. This was such a nice dinner we had just catching up & reminiscing over stories of my dad. Mike was the kindest man and a true friend to my father. I’m sure they have a great game going on up there ❤️

Every time there’s a big sports game happening I always find myself wondering how much my dad would have had on it. I grew up with 3 TV’s in our living room with him running back and forth yelling “My mother f’ing grandmother could have caught that one!!!”

He LOVED playing all games…gin, pinnacle, blackjack, poker, ping pong, basketball, checkers, monopoly, go fish 😉 He was always down to play! He was also amazing at doing magic tricks w/cards. I never could quite figure them out!

This was at (99% sure) Lyle Berman’s house in MN. My dad took me w/ him on many gambling trips & it was always a blast! This was one of my fav’s because I learned how to fish. My dad ALWAYS had a way of making things memorable & I’ll forever keep those times close 2 my heart ❤️

Remembering Mike Sexton today. One of my earliest memories of Mike was when I was about 8 yrs on a golf trip with my dad in La Costa. Mike taught me how to do the Cha-Cha on that trip...I still remember the dance to this day. He was so fun and is greatly missed.

My mom & dad met when they were 20 yrs. My mom had a 2nd job as a waitress in a social club on the Upper West Side of NY where he played cards. My dad chased her for 1yr before she finally agreed 2 date him. She was his 1st GF & my mom says 2 this day he was the love of her life.

Thank you 2 those who wrote/sent me this moment during the final table. My dad was on pace 2 win the main event in 1990 which ultimately would have made him a 4x champion. Unfortunately, my brother tragically passed only 9 months prior & he was barely holding it together.

It was just my brother Ritchie’s birthday. Always a hard day… especially for my mom. Here is Ritchie w/ his best friend Jon Jon. Jon Jon is the son of Joe Louis, the boxer. Our families were really close. These two were SO hilarious together and the greatest of friends!!

Testing my daughter 4 her spelling test & I heard this fly out of my mouth “Make sure u never use a word that u don’t know how 2 spell first.” My dad use 2 say that all the time! Funny how we watch ourselves pass things down. He was also the one who studied encyclopedias 4 fun 😂
