Many years ago, my cousin took me to 6th st and we almost ended up in jail. Good times!! Then my daughter was a bartender there to pay for college. I wouldn't mind going back as an old lady for old times sake. I don't want to mess with the crowds though.

It takes some serious ego & entitlement to decide to run for something at the very last minute and ask candidates who had been on the ground early to get out of the race and shake up other statewide races at the last minute. It really is all about her huh.
Interesting tidbit here: in the summer, Talarico called Crockett to ask if she'd run, saying he wouldn't if she did. Then before she announced, she asked if he'd run for governor instead, to which he said he didn't want to hurt Gina Hinojosa.

the “people are homeless because they refuse housing” line is so infuriating bc ut comes from a real place, but what people are actually refusing is parternalistic control. People do want housing, they just don’t want curfews, bureaucratic bullshit, sobriety requirements, etc.

I can't read because I'm not a subscriber. I have to go into my small very red town to vote and tell them I'm a Democrat in front of a small room full of people. My family are usually the only ones. If I get a Dem volunteer they get excited, if not I get dirty looks. It sucks.
