It’s frightening how many of us rely on a small number of heroic people to hold together our tattered health service. We should repay and support them properly, writes @tweetsnolimits.

Without doubt, sectors forced once again to close or scale down should be financially supported – but the bad-tempered complaining has to stop, @tweetsnolimits writes.

The “Acute Waiting List Action Plan September – December 2021” published this week is necessary but nowhere near sufficient. Multi-year budgets and reversing the self inflicted consultant recruitment crisis are absolute must do’s.
Hospital waiting lists are at unmanageable levels. Last year almost 9 people were added every hour, 24 hours a day, to a waiting list. @DonnellyStephen
@MichealMartinTD @LeoVaradkar @paulreiddublin how many more patients will be added before there is firm action? #CareCantWait

@dghealthservice @HSELive @AmbulanceNAS @roinnslainte Thank you Tony. You listened to us when you were DG and you are still listening now. I’m still speaking truth to power as you can see! History will serve you more fairly than the mauling you got in recent months.

Tony O'Brien calls for the introduction of No Fault Compensation for medical negligence claims. He has made that call repeatedly. It is much more compassionate for patients 5/6

Last May, Tony O’Brien resigned as head of the HSE over the CervicalCheck controversy. Stung by what he feels was unfair treatment, today he calls for a ‘sense of decorum and fairness’ to ‘return to Irish political life and the mainstream media’ @susmitchellSBP reports
