Fun fact about the original game on SGX: The rom is "8 megabits".. but there are some large gaps in the rom where nothing is stored/used. If you add these up, and subtract it from the total rom size.. it's actually a 7 megabit game.

It feels like the right time to start giving the SuperGrafx some love. We've got Mister, emulators, SHD3Pro addon (that gives SGX support to regular systems), etc - the available audience is larger now. There's probably more owners of the SGX original hardware now too. With

@upsilandre @upsilandre Actually... you could set the SGX GnG to 10.74 dot clock, and then viewable res to 384x240.. centered to the screen. 10.74mhz dot clock has a PAR of 0.5714 : 1. But if you view that in anamorphic widescreen, that becomes a 0.761 : 1 PAR. 99.999% the same as the arcade

@upsilandre I modded your hack of SGX GnG to use 376x240 res - the ~max you can do for PCE/SGX 7.16mhz dot clock. I had to increase the right side sprite culling length, which makes sprites happy. But it looks like couple small sections of the tilemap need to be altered for it

I created a patch for US version of R-Type that not only restores the full sprite line bandwidth (the US version has wait states on vram unlike the Japanese PC-Engine hucards). But I also modded the game to show 368 pixels horizontally; 368x224 res. Not that difficult of a hack

For years now.. I've been trying to figure out why Darius Alpha, the all-boss special promotional hucard, advertised "PC-SG" on the packaging, but I never saw it enable SGX stuff. Turns out, my rom is patched to bypass using SGX completely. And I've had to re-download sets over

The PC Engine's true colour palette isn't linear RGB; the palette goes through a transformation when it gets modulated. And while its composite output is good, S-Video is better. Here's a video that shows off @zaxour 's TurboNanza modification: https://t.co/UJGZc70j0i

上の画像だとわかりにくいので動画にしました。赤い枠はプレーンA、緑がBです。手前から見ていると一枚のレイヤーのように見えますが、部分的に優��が付いているため、横から見ることで上下が手前と奥に分かれていることが理解いただけるかと思います。

指定できるのは20か所なんですが、これは横解像度が320のためです(320÷16=20)。ですが、画面が8ドット横にスクロールすると…画像のように半分の短冊(緑)が2つ+完全な短冊(赤)が19ですので足りなくなります。そのため、一番左の中途半端な短冊は縦スクロール値が常に0になります! これは困る…
