Please share story in hopes to make the 'secrecy of addictions' more open to decrease the stigma. My son, who we lost last week, died of an accidental overdose in our home....alone. That is the killer; coupled with shame and guilt. 💔😓 @momsstoptheharm

This overview of outgoing ED is very telling...
'Progress has been uneven, often hard-won, and never guaranteed — but it matters.' At #CND69, #HarmReduction gained ground amidst contestation and deep geopolitical fractures. @AnnFordham reflects on her final CND as IDPC Executive Director 👇 https://t.co/S0owrbCrPv

A fantastic and well attended even last nite. Q&A was insightful and showcased very real concerns for those in or entering the TRADES. #IAmAaronsMom

Wrong! Supervised consumption sites are part of the continuum of care. They keep people alive so they can access treatment. And let's stop misleading the public: many people on methadone or other treatments still use street drugs. The difference is whether they use alone or
The evidence is confirming what we have said from the beginning: drug injection sites are not the answer. Addiction demands real intervention, real treatment and real compassion, not more places for people to stay trapped in crisis. The Alberta Model will continue to focus on

My 31 years of sobriety is without a higher power. I took the approach that today is called a personal recovery plan by @LifeRing #Secular Recovery. Although many faith-based or spiritual people also choose more self-empowered approaches to recovery. #recoveryposse #Atheism

Bars are supervised drug consumption sites. One is normalized because the drug is legal. The other exists because the drug supply is toxic and people are dying. But if you drink and still judge people who use drugs, that’s not morality. That’s hypocrisy!

Better health? Address poverty. Safer communities? Address poverty. Less addiction, less crime, less suffering? Address poverty. Poverty isn’t a side issue. It’s the engine driving most of the problems we claim to care about! POVERTY KILLS.

Blaming drugs for homelessness is intellectual laziness. The real drivers are unaffordable housing, poverty, and untreated mental illness!
It’s the drugs. Take the drugs out of california and other major cities and crime and homelessness drops 99%. How hard is it in a modern society to cut off and punish drugs vs enabling the use?

In real time....
At #CND69, Member States rejected US attempts to strip the proceedings from focusing on the #2030Agenda. The (unprecedented) early vote signals robust support for global drug policy debates to be rooted in rights and development. More on the #CNDBlog: https://t.co/T8zYcUI3dz

You can flood streets with cops and still have suffering everywhere. Or you can fund housing, mental health care, and addiction treatment, and actually make people safe! If you want a happier and healthier society for everyone that's the solution.

There is more than hope out there....there are ways to recover.👇👇
THE BEST UPDATE EVER!👇 In 2024 I went to Newfoundland to do a few presentations about rehabilitation. I was asked if I’d be comfortable going into a penitentiary to speak with a group of inmates who’ve spent their lives in and out of prison. My own time in prison was years ago

Spot on & evidenced (2025 PITA report)in Kamloops by the whopping 26% increase in 55+ category of homelessness.
More seniors are becoming homeless. This is not just happening in the United States, it's happening in Canada. When your fixed income doesn't match the cost of housing you become homeless!!

My sister writes a poem about losing her nephew, my son, Aaron. Her choice of words and imagery is bang on & I'm so appreciative of this at this time of year when grief is a bit harder. 💜💔❤️🩹 #IamAaronsMom

When it comes to housing. BE LIKE FINLAND Finland designed entire apartment blocks for the homeless where rent adjusts to income and jobs are found first. They've nearly ended homelessness nationwide with its HOUSING FIRST strategy which gives people a small apartment and
