Didn't take long to fill my tub with blackberries this morning, seems to be a bumper crop this year. Long gone are the days when Boyton Hall was a fruit farm, now just endless winter wheat

Already a flock of 150 Linnets over the cover crop at Boyton Hall this morning. Normally signals the end of the breeding season when Linnets start to flock, though still a few late nests on the go. Shortly after taking this pic a Hobby came-a-hunting.

Quail calling at Boyton Hall, Combs this morning. My 1st Wasp Spider in the area as well, though my budget phone cam or unsteady aim didn't capture it well đŸ«¢

80 Swifts feeding over fields of rape at Combs, coming & going from nests in town. Shame this crop isn't grown so much now. Another 100 Swifts counted over Combs Ford from hill by Combs Wood. Must have been at least 300 round town this evening.

Only 3 singing Nightingales @suffolkwildlife Black Bourn Valley last night. Disappointing as 1 less than when last looked 3 years ago. Certainly not filling all available habitat, so problems with productivity and/or survival.
