Everything I do is for Chloe, the trans woman who loved me and helped me take my first steps outta the closet. She died of violence in 2009. I changed my name to hers to pay homage.
Every transgender activist you know carries with them the deaths of dozens of trans people whose stories made an impact on us.
It never gets any easier.
We owe it to all of them. One day we'll make a monument in their names and their memories will live forever.

This is why we need better wages and working conditions for trans performers, on par with what cis women make. If one of the top five performers in trans porn is struggling to afford insulin, what chance of financial security do any of the rest of us have?
