As a Dad I’ve answered a lot of questions. If you do it long enough kids come to you with questions like “do you think the priest from Romeo + Juliet acted morally?” . As a middle age white dude I have molded someone who actually wants my opinion on random matters. The dream!.

Still employed. But if you are wondering if you should reach out to someone who was laid off or otherwise effected, err on the side of reaching out. Having been laid off in the past, I can state with certainty - people will remember your kindness and need it.
