Irony of GDP: to spend billions of $ to prepare to extract billion$ of resources, then to spend billion$ more to restore it that require billion$ more to maintain it forever is much better than to allow the land 2 retain its natural resources & operate natively (AKA no GDP value)

#PSL: Personal Seat License. A new expensive acronym to #broncosCountry. Look for a $4-5 figure charge for the #privilege to hold the space to buy your season ticket at inflated prices! https://t.co/yL0AwbPSWC

The city can’t do this kind of deal making often enough, but this is exactly what I want from a quasi governmental agency that we approved hundreds of millions of dollars of debt to be able to do. The city shouldn’t be a developer, but it should get great deals to benefit us!

When cities do something innovative for challenging populations, it’s imperative that they step up their game on management & enforcement to ensure that the project works for everyone. This is a typical example of the city taking its eye off after install.

Neighbors living next to Denver's Elati Village micro community are asking the facility be shut down or moved "immediately" after an RV parked outside the facility burst into flames during the night...

I bet we’ll be hearing this “obsolete” word thrown around with the Mile High Stadium as negotiations & asks for funds from “no new taxes” gets heated. A stadium that seats 70k + fans, is sold out & hosts every NFL game type plus more is not obsolete, especially after 25 years!

I hope the @Broncos don’t steal a page from the #Trump handbook by lying about privately funding the stadium. That means that they pay full salaries retail price above acquisition & costs for Burnam Yards & @DenverWater campus, as they have with other properties.

Important theater! Yes, testing & verification is required but it it doesn’t have to include the theatrics of measuring the ramp width or pulling out a level. Thinking about accessibility would be to demonstrate how people with devices will use the ramp & those with bicycles too
RTD and @CityofDenver just tested level boarding for the East Colfax BRT! ✅ Faster service with all-door entry ✅ Easier access for wheelchairs, strollers & bikes A big step toward faster, more accessible transit on Colfax. #RideRTD #ColfaxBRT @WeBackTheFax

This should surprise no one! What is more important to me is what they mean w the rhetoric of “transformational opportunity” as it’s been an industrial area since it was developed. The last thing we need is another trophy surrounded by a sea of asphalt for billionaires! #broncos

Is labor a commodity? On this Labor Day weekend, we should ask ourselves if our current patterns of laborers vs craftspeople or even entrepreneurs is the trajectory we need to sustain our country for another century? If labor is a commodity, what do we need to do to support them?

The American style of single family home is engineered to be a consumption means to extract wealth from the owner & occupant, not a space for living. Ironically, our GDP would be higher if we had smaller yards better oriented towards living, maintained by professionals.

If we always insist that the desires of cars & their owners are accommodated on every area of common space, we’ll never get to safety, comfort or enjoyment for everyone. Want to raise the value of your house? Make the common around it for people, not personal private vehicles.

Reframe: democrats are Social Liberals, republicans are Neoliberals! Two sides of the same coin but see the coin differently. The only opportunity for anything different is along the slim edge—where 99% of us actually want our government to exist!

@Safeway/@Albertsons #app has a math issue! Or maybe just numbers?! Not sure why they are basing a discount off $1 more than what they advertise. Happening across the app!

.@DenverDOTI Unintended consequences: can’t maintain the R.O.W. because the “temporary” objects were installed without consideration to maintenance as hopefully permanent devices will be. In the meantime, plenty of composted debris intoxicated by vehicles is developing!

I’m also wanting to see time limits on rezoning for anything beyond by-right. When a developer gets a jump in land value from a rezoning, they often flip it to another developer for a quick profit. The opportunity for upzoning should not just enrich the developer—get shit built!

By allowing the neighborhood the opportunity to have input on specific issues for anything beyond 4 units, we can increase by-right densification without exposing ourselves to mega projects that sprawl like suburban projects, yet constrain NIMBYism to certain aspects of H,S,W.

We are getting rezoning requests to jump from single family to multi family over 20 units in horizontal configuration on several lots. We support increasing intensity, especially for Affordable Housing, yet we’d like the new stuff to fit with the existing context & scale.
