Exploring the tools of software design

New design docu-series. Episode 1 follows @ridd_design and it's giving us chills. Should this exist?
Design's best trendspotter is @ridd_design. - He drives industry dialog with @joindiveclub - He changes the way designers work with @inflight - He spotlights designers, tools and trends early I spent two days with him to learn how he does it. One of the most important

A very candid convo with the Chief Design Officer of @metalab Must watch.
Measuring velocity of designers is absolute bullsh*" says @sravienna, CDO at @metalab Speed isn't about cutting corners. It's about building trust. The faster you demonstrate momentum, the more goodwill you earn. And that goodwill buys you the space for quality work. Her team

Highly recommend this episode with @kylezantos from our @uxtoolsco Lab. Sharp from start to finish. Excited for what Kyle has already brought to our team, and we’re just getting started.
my goal is to transition into a full-blown builder with AI in 2026 so I asked @kylezantos to share specific Claude Code tactics that designers can add to their toolkit I'm unreasonably excited about his design engineering "skill" 👇 https://t.co/G8kWbNVNcm

One of the most relevant discussions about the state of design tooling and process this year. Worth a watch.
I've spent the year studying how designers are exploring. Then the @karrisaarinen vs. @ryolu_ debate kicked off, and it captured everything I've been seeing this year. I sat down to write a 60 second video about it. 6 hours later I'd written something more. Reasonable

I spent the summer interviewing some of the year’s best designers, builders and investors in this community. I wanted to find out how other people were building, experimenting and playing with tools. The goal was to turn those 60-minute convos into shorter, more animated

“If this isn’t in your stack yet, it will be by next year” This is a great rollout.
I'm not even saying this as bait: Granola Crunched > Founder Pitchdeck 16 insights about you + your people + your progress. This is really good. Well done to the @meetgranola team. Newcomer product of the year, easy.

This is the sort of storytelling about design this world needs. This series is off to a wonderful start.
Some people make noise on the internet for the sake of noise. But @soren_iverson knows how to make it mean something. This is how the Weird Al of tech turned his absurdity into a world-class design agency. Full episode on YouTube.

Seeing so many designers getting value out of this bundle is exactly why we spent 3 months trying to organize this. Happy to see how useful this is to people. What tools should we include next go-around?
Just bought this. $129 for all these tools. Bolt. Notion. Framer. Perplexity. Mobbin, etc. Over $1,000 in software I already use. Legit surprised it isn’t sold out yet.

My software stack costs $7,117.22/month to run. (If you read my premium newsletter last week, you saw the receipts.) Design. Automation. Hosting. AI. Communication. Marketing. Inspiration. It takes all of this to keep a modern design business running. Without them, it’s like

The new UX Tools Discovery bundle is live for the first 1,000 signups. After that, it’s all gone. If you’ve been wanting to try new tools, this is your time to do it on the cheap. This won’t be around for long.
I'm a designer LARPing as a media dude. The cool thing about that is I get to meet the people building my favorite tools. And the cool thing about that is I talked them into giving you guys a months of Pro access. $129 one-time. 6 months of Premium access to: - @perplexity_ai

Some people "think to create", while @ryolu_ creates to think. In today's State of Play, @cursor_ai's head of design explains why he stopped being a "sponge" and started building playgrounds instead. He only uses 3 tools now: Browser, Cursor, Notion "You don't need permission.

We are seeing the hard reset of mastery and it’s because of people like @ryolu_. He cloned himself at @cursor_ai and has inspired me to build my own playground. There a number of designers leading this sort of play: - @samdape and his software-as-a-gift - @mrblackstudio and

We crunched the data. Here's what surfaced. Introducing the Future of Design Award → @framer - Most anticipated tool for 2025. - 10.0% of respondents said “I need to try this.” A clear momentum gainer.

The numbers told a clear story from this year's Annual Design Tools Survey. The Career Catalyst Award goes to HTML/CSS/JS (Code) - 15.2% of independents say it’s their unlock. Not a private tool. A trade superpower. Still the fastest path to control and freedom, it appears.
