It's hotting up in #Rivals (book not TV series). Enid Spink interviewed, bitching about Michael Tippett getting his opera televised rather than her. A reminder of how bad 1980s were for composers like Spink when it came to who got the prime-time TV slots for operas.

Barrie Gavin – a veritable poet of musical filmmaking and an RPS Honorary Member – has sadly died. The countless films he made with great composers, from Boulez and Berio to Takemitsu and Turnage, are treasures – worth finding and watching, sure to inspire for years to come.
