This morning @SadiqKhan will announce he has hit his hugely ambitious target of starting 116,000 affordable homes in London. This is an incredible achievement by London’s housing associations and councils, and the superb team at City Hall, in extremely challenging circumstances.

The government’s homelessness strategy is out today, backed by £3.5bn to tackle homelessness nationally. It’s great to see a pledge to build on the @MayorofLondon’s work to end “verification”, which can force people to sleep rough in order to access homelessness services.

This week @KayaJunction and I visited some of the services commissioned by City Hall and @MOPACLdn to support survivors of domestic abuse and VAWG in Camden. The Domestic Abuse Navigator service and the Camden Respite Rooms both work with women experiencing multiple disadvantage.

City Hall is accelerating the delivery of council homes on @lb_southwark’s Tustin estate with funding from @MayorofLondon. This means 164 new council homes will be built sooner than planned. In total 300 new council homes will be delivered on the estate.

As it’s a good day to celebrate an icon (the double arrow) I thought I’d dust off my copy of the reprinted British Rail Corporate Identity Manual.
Tomorrow the new blue, red & white GBR livery & brand will be launched. The new design will be displayed on digital displays at a number of stations. The DfT says the livery will appear across already publicly owned train operators from spring, with roll-out being gradual. 📷DfT

At City Hall, I raised the crucial need for keyworker housing in London. 🏠🏥 To fix the NHS recruitment and retention crisis, we must support keyworkers' housing needs. London deserves the best healthcare workers, and we need to give them the homes they need to serve our City.
