I recognise there are financial pressures but this cut goes to the heart of trust and confidence in the Met. It is important that there is at least one physical contact point where people can go to talk and provide documents with police officers. This needs urgent rethinking.

Today we remember the 7/7 bombings 20 years on. I still have lots of memories of that awful day. Earlier today, I laid a wreath and represented the London Assembly at a very moving memorial service. We’ve come out stronger in tackling terrorism and hate in all its forms since.

We need the Government to work with the Mayor in understanding this important research on the impact of government proposals.

I want young Londoners and their European counterparts to be able to enjoy the opportunities offered by living, working and traveling freely. A EU-UK mobility scheme is the right thing for our young people. And it's good for the economy and growth.

Proper checks and balances must remain to prevent poor developments and ensure we have the housing and infrastructure that Londoners need. The London Plan is about creating a London for the future. Have your say here:

This is not just about housing supply. The London Plan needs to ensure access to public transport, health provision and to prevent the closure of schools because families are moving out of London.

Londoners deserve a safe and affordable home. You don’t have to look far to see the impact that the housing crisis is having. It’s right for the Mayor to seek to bring the London Plan in line with government policy and to explore building on grey belt or poor quality green belt.

I was pleased to see another St George’s Day celebration in Trafalgar Square thanks to our Mayor of London @SadiqKhan on Monday. This day celebrated our heritage and the long-standing diversity of London. I hope all that attended enjoyed their day.

Today is St George’s day for Christians worshipping and promoting the values the continuing battle of good over evil. That is the real messaging in this national celebration, it should not be hijacked by some to use patriotism to promote hate and isolation.

Delighted that since yesterday, children at 11 schools in my constituency will benefit from two free meals a day thanks to Labour’s policies. This is the difference a Labour Government and Labour Mayor make.
