I wrote a spell checker in Rust. It uses the algorithm described by Peter Norvig, Director of Research at Google. It can be trained one or more times with a large corpus of words and uses a probabilistic model to find the most likely correct spelling.

There is a theoretical maximum speed in concurrent programming. 💻Amdahl's Law says that if 50% of code is parallelizable then there is 2x max speedup. 📈95% parallelizable code gives 20x. #TechTalk #ParallelComputing #SoftwareEngineering

Meta's hiring away key OpenAI researchers reminds me of the old dictum named Joy's Law: "no matter who you are, most of the smartest people work for someone else".

Cloud migration is a strategic win. I led a shift from a legacy CMS platform to a cloud-based SaaS, slashing operational costs by 70%. Success required planning and collaboration. When done right, cloud transitions deliver huge value. #CloudComputing #TechLeadership #Efficiency

I wrote an app that shows dynamic programming using Golang. A Knuth-Plass line-breaking algorithm breaks a text string into lines that do not exceed a given width. It finds optimal breakpoints using a penalty function that discourages trailing spaces.

Small tweaks, big impact. I added A/B testing to an enterprise web application. Based on collected data, account registration success improved from 68% to 74%. Data-driven decisions optimize user experiences and reduce support costs. #ABTesting #UX #DataDriven

Standardizing feature flags in React apps transforms deployment. In my experience this enables testing with select users, finds regressions sooner and cuts rollback costs. Feature flags are a low-risk release strategy. #DevOps #React #Innovation

TIL Google created a network congestion control algorithm called TCP BBR. It has been available in Linux for quite a few years. Windows has an implementation named bbr2.

Software devs prioritize the "happy path” where systems function as intended. Yet error handling is executed less often and is more complex. Research at Amazon has found that 92% of catastrophic failures in distributed systems stemmed from improper handling of nonfatal errors.

Should AI stick with what works or try something new? . AI systems must balance:. * Exploitation - proven strategies for immediate rewards.* Exploration - new approaches that might be better. Success means performing well today while continuously adapting for tomorrow.

Another board game that I'm anticipating. I owned and traded away Monsters Menace America because, well, it was fiddly and did not serve its theme of giant monster battles well. This promises new updated rules. Fingers crossed for a fun and strategic game.
