On Day 2 our friends Rep Mark Pless & Sen Mayfield joined the site tour & met with local electeds in Hot Springs, Canton, Waynesville & AVL. @floodcoalition appreciates the opportunity to partner w/ Helene impacted communities to help them become more resilient to future flooding

The first day took us from the NC/SC border all the way up the the NC/TN line visiting communities alongside local leaders to ensure they understood the opportunity this $ would provide thanks for the #ncga support for flood resilient infrastructure grants.

NC House leaders were responsive to that priority &worked w/ @afcaction on a $20m provision in their recently passed -& bipartisan- Helene Recovery bill. I've been visiting with communities in WNC to hear about how this can save taxpayers $ & improve public safety. Waynesville:
